Penelope Anne Constance Keith, also known as Penelope Keith, was a beautiful and talented English actress who had her first big break in the 1950s and thereafter had roles for numerous other sitcoms. She was one of the big names in Television during the 1980´s and 1990´s. Since then, we haven’t seen much of her work on television, only in theaters. In 1978 the Sitcom that started her career was coming to an end, it was then when she decided to marry her boyfriend Rodney Timson, who was a former policeman who she had met during one of her theater performances. This was not her first husband but her third, and together they adopted two kids and started a new family.
Penelope Keith is not only an actress but someone who loves gardening. She even had a flower named after her! She was a contributing narrator for the TV Show The Teletubbies in 1997. Her most recent work on TV was in 2009 when she presented a documentary for the BBC called “Penelope Keith and the Fast Lady.” She is also known for her famous quotes like “I think I’m a better actress for having friends and interests outside the theatre. I wouldn’t want to live my life surrounded by other actors all the time,¨ which most people would dare not say. Usually actors are surrounded by actors, singers are surrounded by singers, musicians and so on, it’s gravity. But few people try to get out of their comfort zone. It takes willingness and courage to try to be friends with people we have nothing in common with.
Another quote is “The character I play in Star Quality says acting is the be-all and end-all of her life. I’m not like that. I do enjoy working and I give every job my best shot but I never feel, ‘What on Earth am I going to do now’?” That is one of her best quotes, the fact that recognizing that her job, even if it involves being admired by lots of people, isn’t necessarily her entire world. Acting is a job, like any other job and recognizing that our job isn’t out entire life is something that we should all admire and use. Most of us have 8 hours a day job, we get home and a lot of times we keep thinking about the job we left at the office. If or when we lose our job we believe that our entire world has come to an end when we should be realizing that this, like any other, is just a job.
At last! Somonee with the insight to solve the problem!
Good point. I hadn’t thuoght about it quite that way.
