Of all the fine arts in the world, I find dancing as one of the most beautiful and profound. It’s not just the sound of music, the movement of the body, its actually the chemistry that can be felt between those two. There are thousands of dancers just like Penelope all over the world, just waiting to be discovered, craving for a spotlight, waiting for a dream to come true. Perhaps the spotlight isn’t for everyone, there are people that, like Penelope, should just dance behind closed doors, or for family and friends entertainment. Dancing is a beautiful thing, and the more passionate, the better.
The stage, on the other hand can be scary, it can terrify the most passionate dancer. Instead of walking away from our dreams because we are scared, we should fight for them, like Penelope, work on stage presence and be able to handle the stress that takes over someone´s body when they feel the presence of the public looking from outside in. In my opinion, it’s not the dancing we are afraid of; it’s the judgmental eyes sitting on the public that makes us feel like we should run away as fast as we can.
The first thing we need to do in order to take control of our fear is basically to identify what exactly is it that we are afraid of, when exactly this fear began, and do so in the most honest way possible; otherwise, we will never be able to stand in front of a crowd and do what we love. It doesn’t happen just with dancing, it can happen with anything that can be witnessed by a group of people, let’s say singing, acting, playing an instrument or simply standing on a stage to speak about a certain subject. Dancing is one of the most beautiful things in the world, but everything we love to do can turn into a nightmare when we are been watched by people from outside when we are afraid that only some will love what we do and maybe there´s a chance that they won’t. That my friend is when our fear is born.
Super excited to see more of this kind of stuff oinnle.
What I find so intreesintg is you could never find this anywhere else.
